Mrs. Patty McBee Barton, age 61, of Calhoun, died Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Gordon Hospital following a brief illness,
Mrs. Barton was born in Gordon County on March 5, 1951, daughter of the late Lee and Myrtle Sisson McBee. She was employed in the floor covering industry for 40 years, and at the time of her death she was a buyer for the Adairsville division of the Beaulieu Group. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Barton on June 8th, 2011 and a brother, Gene McBee in 2010. She attended New Town Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Dana Mashburn and her husband Mason of Calhoun, and Janna Barton of Calhoun; a son, Jamie Barton and his wife Danielle of Dudley, GA; three grandchildren, Dawson, Mattie Jane, and Moss Mashburn; two brothers, Johnny McBee and his wife Dell of Resaca, and Buck McBee and his wife Betty of Calhoun; two sisters, Grathel Blankenship of Resaca, and Morene Arnold of Rome; and sisters-in-law, Yvonne McBee, Norma Ash, Lorretta Hicks, Brenda Bates and Janis Ward. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Patty McBee Barton will be held Tuesday, March 13th at 3:00 PM from New Town Baptist Church, with Rev. Walter Hare and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Music will be arranged by Darlene Weaver Wright and Donnie Nesbitt. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers serving will include Jamie Barton, Mason Mashburn, Jeff McBee, Matt Brannon, William Hamilton and Ricky McBee.
