He lived in the Pittsburgh area until 1990, and moved to Garrett County and then Morgantown in 2008. He wanted to be remembered as being a friend to both man and beast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard P. and Vesta (Standish) Moss; three brothers, Dayton, Harold and Harry; and his first-born infant twin girls.
He is survived by one sister, and her four children; his three children; four stepchildren; five grandchildren; and 14 step-grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Army and National Guard, both in active duty and reserves for 26 years. He was active in politics for many years while living in Pittsburgh. He was also very active in church and community affairs. He was a trustee at Slippery Rock University for six years. He was a lifetime member of the American Statistical Association, and worked for U.S. Steel Research and Bettis Atomic Power Labs, before working 32 years at Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
