James William Anderson,Jr. was born in Tacoma, Washington on 1 May 1918. His parents are James William and Angie Ethel (Hoska) Anderson.

James married Marian Estelle Jones on 27 December 1941 in Walla Walla, Washington.

Then about four months after getting married he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, on 30 April 1942. James served during World War II and was honorably discharged on 23 November 1945.

At the age of 75, James passed away in Gig Harbor, Washington, on 8 May 1993.
