Phillip L. Lister, 83, of Clarks Hill died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Central.

He was born November 24, 1928, in Clarks Hill to the late Noble and Daorotha Fisher Lister.

Phil graduated from Clarks Hill high School in 1946 and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On August 26, 1950 he married Juanita Nice in Lafayette and she survives. Mr. Lister owned Lister's Plumbing, Heating and Electric for many years and is retired. He was a volunteer with the Clarks Hill Volunteer Fire Department for 45 years and was an avid gardener. Phil enjoyed making wine and sharing it with family and friends. He was an early member of the Breakfast Optimist Club and worked on the development of the Breakfast Optimist Park. Surviving with his wife is a son David B. Lister wife Lynnette of Lafayette and granddaughters Sharon Walters husband Eric of Independence and Angie Lister (Yoder) of Lafayette and great grandchildren Zach and Hayley Walters, Aaron Yoder and his father Mark Yoder. Also surviving is Cheryl's companion Brenda Ade of Clarks Hill and her son Steve Shelton. He was preceded in death by a daughter Cheryl L. Lister and a sister Lelabeth Stingley. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to a 2:30 PM service Saturday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Rev. Ann Williams officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
