Dorothy married Max D. Perkins, and he preceded her in death January 25, 1996, after 45 years of marriage.
She retired from Western Electric in 1991, after 20 years of service. Dorothy never met anyone she didn't befriend with her engaging smile; she loved to bowl, work in the yard, and was an avid Colts and Pacers fan.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Patricia Schimmoller (Daryl), James Perkins, John Perkins, and Mike Perkins (Norma); 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Hershal and Sherrill Whitaker.
Dorothy's sisters, Elsie and Melba; and brothers, Dorwin and Murrell; also preceded her in death.
