OBITUARY:
Funeral services for Carolyn June Drake, 38, of 3127 Ashley Avenue, will be held at 2:00p.m. tomorrow, Sept. 17, in Scheer Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Drake died Saturday. She was born March 26, 1937 in Oklahoma.
Surviving are her daughter, Lori, of the home; her father, Binum O'Neal of Sacramento; her mother, Lorene Herzberg, and step-father, Walter Herzberg, of San Leandro; a sister, Georgia Cordaway of San Leandro; and several nieces and nephews.
According to the death certificate Carolyn was a bookkeeper for Jay Vee Dress Shop.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Carolyn's biological father was Elgie Eugene Yarbrough. Lorene & Elgie never married. They were living in Wewoka, Ok at the time.
About two weeks before Elgie passed away, he told us he had a daughter and wanted us to find her. All he knew was the mother's name. After many month's of searching and a lot of help from a lot of people we found Carolyn's half sister, Nadine in California.
Nadine told us that Carolyn had always wanted to find her biological father. We were just several years too late.
Carolyn had been killed in an automobile accident in 1975.
Nadine was wonderful. She gave us information, pictures, and even a home video that had Carolyn June in it. We are forever greatful to all the people who helped us find her and especially for Nadine for all she did and especially for the pictures of Carolyn.
