Jerry died in an accident; he was throwing bales of hay from the barn door. The cows were crowding in. He took his .22 rifle and butted a cow with the stock. The gun discharged. He was alone when this happened and had to walk back to the house. He remained conscious long enough to tell our grandfather what happened. He died a few hours later at the Coffee County hospital.
Jerry who was one month shy of his 14th birthday. Jerry was the grandson of Leon and Gladys Vining of Ambrose Georgia.
