Prof. Alsdorf Dead.

Prof. Dubois Brown Alsdorf, one of the best known citizens of Newburgh, aged more than 80 years, and a dancing master of considerable reknown, died at his Newburgh home, Sunday evening.

He early developed strong musical tendencies and began to teach the violin and dancing at an early age. He served a long apprenticeship in bands and orchestras and travelled all over the country in these capacities.

In 1850 he established a dancing class in Newburgh, and since then has been busy at his business, teaching generations of Orange county people how to comport themselves in the graceful art. He was well-known in Warwick, where, for several years he instructed classes, and many of his old pupils remember him pleasantly.

He was a member of the A. M. E. Zion Church, and was highly respected by all who knew him.
