LACON - Kathryn M. Ehringer, 99, of Lacon passed away peacefully in her home at 9:15 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012.
She was born on Feb. 13, 1913, to the late Charles and Vada (Kizer) Vandeveer. She married Wayne Ehringer in Lacon on Oct. 10, 1954. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1975.
She is survived by one son, Gary (Mary Lou) Ehringer; four grandchildren, Mike Ehringer of Peoria, Missy (Ben Light) Hess of Bartonville, Bill (Dawn) Blundell of Metamora and Julie Ann Kupferschmid of Peoria; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Katie was a member of the Lacon Congregational United Church of Christ, the Pink Ladies, the Senior Women's Club and the Altruse Society. She enjoyed playing bridge and was known for her knitting and crocheting. She loved her dog, Cheetos. Katie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by her family, friends and her community.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2012, at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. The Rev. Kay Harding will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012, also at the funeral home.
