Funeral services for G.T. "Thomas" Stovall, 77, of Lufkin will be held Friday, April 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Marvin Earl Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Stovall was born September 21, 1934 in Garrison, Texas to Joe V. and Dixie Irene (Humphries) Stovall, and went Home Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in a local hospital. He had resided in Lufkin most of his life and retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad following 34 years of service. Mr. Stovall loved the Lord, loved his family, and enjoyed playing bluegrass music. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Gil and Marianne Stovall of Lufkin, Thereasa and Chris Montes of Nome, Pam and Gerald Ledbetter of Breckenridge, Drew and Mary Stovall of Lufkin, Annette Stovall of Longview and Billy and Mikki Stovall of Lufkin; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Billy Joe Stovall of Lufkin, Carolyn and Billy Duke of Diboll, Dixon "Shorty" and Bea Stovall, Beryl and Eddie Bryant, Sheryl and Allen Lehr, all of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Stovall; parents, J.V. and Dixie Stovall; granddaughter, Marie Elizabeth Stovall; daughter-in-law, Melanie Ann Meyer; and sister-in-law, Sandra Sue Stovall.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Stovall III, Kevin Stovall, Ryan Stovall, Forrest Montes, Aaron Montes and Britton Stovall.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
