Niles-December 6, 2008-Michael A. Olive, 56, of 1674 Stillwagon Road, died at 1:16 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown.

Mr. Olive was born December 14, 1951 in Youngstown, a son of the late Anthony and Mary Centofante Olive and had lived in Niles since 1977, coming from Hubbard.

Mike worked in law enforcement for 24 years, first as a deputy sheriff with the Trumbull County Sheriff's Department and most recently as a sergeant for the Weathersfield Township Police Department retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, Niles.

He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth M. Swaney, whom he married July 7, 1979; his daughter, Kathleen E. Olive of Niles; a sister, Barbara (George) Murray of Poland; a brother, James (Susan) Olive of Niles; one niece and two nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Niles with the Reverend Thomas Kraszewski officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery, East Palestine. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Niles Chapel, 415 Robbins Avenue and at St. Stephen Church on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m.
