Kenneth Emil Wiedmeier, 79, of Filer, passed away April 2, 2012 at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls. He was born on July 22, 1932 in Harvey, North Dakota, the son of Emil and Alma Wiedmeier.

He graduated from Harvey High School in 1952 in Harvey, North Dakota. Shortly after graduation he joined the US Navy, serving in Cuba, Greece, Spain, Italy, France and Africa aboard the SS. Elokomin. On June 11, 1955, he married the love of his life Pat Weber. To this union were born five children.

During his life he worked as a grocery store manager, bread delivery driver, and the eventually retired from Acme Manufacturing where he worked as a purchasing agent for over 30 years. Kenneth enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, and wood working. He was a member of the Filer American Legion, and was a past member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Buhl.

Kenneth loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They affectionately referred to him as "Grumpy Grandpa." He also will be remembered as the "turkey smoker" for the Acme Manufacturing Christmas Parties, often smoking over 20 turkeys for his fellow co-workers and their families to enjoy.

Surviving are his wife Pat of Filer, daughters – Tammy (Tim) Lynard of Filer, Jody (John) Holloway of Filer, Vikki (Roger) Brewer of Filer, Jamie (Art) Henry of Eden, son – Steve (Lisa) Wiedmeier of Filer, brother – Thorny (Marian) Stark of Lincoln, North Dakota, 18 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and two more Great Grandchildren on the way. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Buhl. Services are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls.
