He retired in 1982, after 22 years as a Mansfield municipal employee.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mansfield.
He and his wife, the former Marian Bartlett, recently observed their 47th wedding anniversary.
Born April 27, 1917, in Richmond Twp., Tioga County, he was a son of Claude and Jennie Bly Hagar.
Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons, Robert of Alabama, and Ronald of Mansfield; two daughter, Mrs. Arlene Welch and Mrs. Audrey Wandell, both of Mansfield; another brother Fordyce of Mansfield; three sisters, Ina Hagar and Lena Burrows, both of Mansfield, and Julia Jerzak of Morris Run; and 6 grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1 pm Tuesday at Scureman's, 130 South Main Street, Mansfield. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield. The Rev. Norman A. Evans, his pastor, will officiate. There will be no visitation. The family will provide the flowers.
