Dear Nephew
I embrace this opportunity to write you. Hope this may find you well, and
the balance of my connection. My own health is tolerably good. indeed for
one of my age very good. I am living with my son Henry. My wife has been
dead some two years. I am living somewhat a lonesome life, though enjoying
myself as well as I can (A C )? I want you to write to me as soon as you
conveniently can and let me know what has become of the "Denton" connection.
I want to know in particular what has become of my sister Vina Lillard and
Jonathon Dentons widdow and your mother. Let me know where Jonathon Dentons
children are (and) whether or not any of the boys lost their lives in the
late war. Also let me know about your brothers John and William. I want to
know what has become of brother Sam. Dentons last woman and her children. If
you please let me hear from you ar you earliest convenience and give me all
the desired information as I am very anxious to know what has become of all
my connection. let me know about Cousin Abraham Denton. Do not think me
tedious -- if you please -- it will be great satisfaction to learn all that
(I) ask of you. I will give you all the news you ask of me in my next
letter to you.
Respectfully your uncle
Jonas Denton
