Franklin B. Nichols, 70, of Newark Valley passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Frank was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Lou Nichols earlier this year; his parents, Lewis and Irene Robinson Nichols; brothers, LeRoy and Harold Nichols. Frank is survived by his daughter, Teresa and Pieter Benne; grandchildren, Abigail and Elizabeth Nezelek, and Isaac Benne; sisters, Lillian Ford, Louise Barto, Florence Eastman, and Linda Hepp; sister-in-law, Sandra Nichols; and many nieces and nephews. Frank was a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, and a member of the American Legion Post #401 in Owego. He loved woodworking and was known as "Honest Abe" through his CB Radio. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego with Rev. William Prentice officiating. Family invites friends to call on Monday, June 13, 2011 from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
