She was born to William Alfred Dugdale and Hannah Maude Ellis on April 23, 1922 in Tabiona, Utah.
She married Frank Atkinson on March 22, 1941 in Coalville, Utah and later solemnized on November 27, 1950 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Elaine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved to cook, sew, and spend time with her family. She made many clothes and quilts for her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her children; Dolores (Kent) Mansell, Yvonne Warnick, Roy (Elaine) Atkinson, Tim (Janet) Atkinson, and Nina (Ed) Clyde; thirteen grandchildren and their spouses; as well as forty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by a brother, Lee A. Dugdale, a sister-in-law, Vera "Aunt Dolly" Dugdale, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers, two sisters, and son-in-law Glen Warnick.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 in the Francis Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held at the church on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the services.
Interment will follow services in the Francis Cemetery.
