He was born June 6, 1952. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Adam L. and Anna Grubbs Cosner, and Thomas Leroy and Bessie Robinson Marks; his brother, David Adam Cosner; a sister, Lydia Cosner Napier; and brother-in-law, Ronald K. Napier.
He is survived by his parents, Kenneth H. and Catherine Marks Cosner; a brother, Danny and his wife, June, of Palmyra; two nephews, Stuart K. Napier and wife, Tamara, of Troy, and Keith Napier of Richmond, Virginia; four nieces, Heather L. Cosner of Kents Store, Jennifer Carver and husband, Don, of Palmyra, Shelly N. Yowell and husband, Shannon, of Palmyra and Rachael L. Cosner; great-nephews and nieces, Matthew and Garrett Carver, Lydiah and Catherine Napier and Carter and Mason Yowell.
Dennis retired from Virginia Department of Transportation after thirty-seven and one-half years of service and looked forward to farming with his dad and being able to go fox hunting. He felt honored to judge local field trials the USO and National hunts were he made many friends. He looked forward to Saturday nights at Wickham's fox run pen. Sharing fellowship with his hunting buddies and listening to his dogs.
A visitation will be held from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Sheridan Funeral Home of Kents Store, Virginia. A graveside funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Beulah Baptist Church cemetery.
