Major League Baseball Player. For six seasons (1954 to 1959), he was a pitcher with the Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers. Born Raymond Edmond Narleski, the son former Major League infielder Bill Narleski, he attended Collingswood High School (New Jersey), prior to being signed as an amateur free agent by Cleveland in 1948. He marked his Major League debut with the Indians on April 17th, 1954 and pitched in 42 games while posting a 2.22 ERA primarily as a reliever. He was a component of an effective Cleveland bullpen which also consisted of Don Mossi and Hal Newhouser, whom were key contributors to the Indians' run at the American League Pennant in 1954. He recorded 4 innings pitched with 2 strikeouts and a 2.25 ERA in 2 contests during the 1954 World Series. Individually, Narleski led the American League in appearances with 60 in 1955 and achieved All-Star status twice (1956 and 1958). In 266 regular season games, he compiled a 43 win 33 loss record with a 3.60 lifetime ERA in 606 innings pitched. After retiring from baseball, he worked as a body mechanic for a truck company in New Jersey.
