He was Preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine (Bramble) and his second wife Betty (Saner). He is survived by his sons, William (Mary Kay) of Alexandria, Ky, Robert (Linda) of Portland, Oregon and grandchildren, Katrina Marie , Misty Lee (Schenk), Kayla Lee, Christopher Lee and William Robert.
Les served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Colorado. He was a member of the VFW for 65 years where he served as a Commander of the John R. Little Post # 3186 for which he twice earned the honor of All State Commander for Kentucky. He was also an active member of the AMVETS, American Legion and the DAV. For his work assisting disabled veterans he was commissioned as a National Aide de Camp and presented the title of Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of Ft. Thomas Seniors, Club 55, Southgate Seniors and Bellevue Vets Seniors. Visitation 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, KY.
Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, April 7, 2012, at the Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Burial will take place in the Independence Cemetery Independence, Kentucky.
