Catharina and her younger sister Elisabeth were born in Germantown PA. Their father Matthaeus Meyer died about October 1740 and mother Anna Maria Barbara Binckele and daughters moved to Monocacy Pa and then to Muddy Creek Lancaster Co. PA near her relatives. Her mother remarried Valentine Frey in Muddy Creek on 29 April 1742; the new family moved about 1749 to Heidelberg, Berks Co. PA. Catharina was sent to Bethlehem PA for 4 weeks in 1753, and she married Johann Jans or Jansen about 1756. She remarried Johann Christian Zimmerman on 4 May 1758 and they moved to Rowan (now Davidson) Co. NC where all of her 13 children were born. The location of their home is shown on a 1766 Moravian map, adjacent to Adam Spach and southeast of Friedberg Church. Christian died in 1793 and Catharina continued living at home with her son Daniel Thomas until 1807 when she moved to Bethania to live with her daughter Regina Elisabeth Miller Kreiger until her death.
