OBITUARY
NEW BOSTON, Ill. - Harriett J. Coulter, 69, New Boston, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at the Mercer County Hospital, Aledo, Ill.

Services are at the United Methodist Church, New Boston. The Rev. Richard Bishop will officiate. Burial will be at the New Boston Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. A memorial fund has been established for the New Boston United Methodist Church or the New Boston Cemetery.

Mrs. Coulter was born Dec. 24, 1932, in New Boston, the daughter of Milo and Nellie (Matthews) Diehl. She married Ernest Lyle Coulter April 16, 1952, in Aledo.

She attended the New Boston schools.

She was employed briefly by Viola Sales and Engineers as a punch press operator and retired from the H.J. Heinz Company, Muscatine. She distributed meals for the Westmer School District and was a homemaker and caretaker to her family and husband.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and enjoyed Bluegrass music, traveling and fishing.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Charlene King and husband James of New Boston; two sons, Charles Ernest Coulter and wife Janice and Ernest Lyle Coulter Jr. and wife Julie, all of New Boston; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Ella Coulter of New Boston and Joanna Henderson of Aledo; and a brother, Dolan Diehl of Keithsburg, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.
