Mike E. Johnson, 79, of Tuscumbia, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, with the service to follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield, with Bruce Blankenship and Steven Guy officiating. Mr. Johnson was a native of Colbert County and a member of Highland Park Church of Christ. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from Ford Motor Co. He was an avid outdoorsman and an amateur musician at the Little Ryman. He is survived by his wife, Jewell "Pennye" Johnson of Tuscumbia; son, Dexter Johnson and wife, Judy D. Johnson, of Florence; daughter, Susan Haley and husband, Paul Haley, of Arlington, Tenn.; sister, Cecil Taylor and husband, the late Roy Taylor, of Russellville; granddaughter, Angela J. Hulsey and husband, Brad Hulsey, of Muscle Shoals; and numerous friends, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jim Fuller, Harley Kent, Bill Vickery, Arley Michael, Truman Johnson, James Ray Jones, Marvin Ross and Troy Ross. Honorary pallbearer will be Julian Henry.
