Granddaughter of Otho A. Jordan and Julia M.B.Redmond
OBITUARY

Passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012 joining her husband Sidney "Zig" and her son Sidney Jr., in Heaven. Maxine was born April 10, 1927 to Gearry and Anna Rita (Jordan) Saxton. She grew up in Muskegon, spending much time in Holton with her grandparents. Maxine was one of seven children, preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother. She married her husband of 54 years on April 12, 1947. Together, they raised their five children and remained in Muskegon until moving to White Cloud at the time of their retirement. Maxine was a woman who enjoyed staying busy in life. After retiring from the Muskegon Regional Center, she continued to be very active in Newaygo County Senior Citizens Center and as a member of Christ the King Church. The rest of her time was often spent in the company of family and friends. Maxine always enjoyed a good card game, and was well known for the cookies she baked. She also liked to spend time outdoors, whether she was tending her flowers, going for a walk with her dog, or tubing with her grandchildren in the river. Her surviving family members include her brother Samuel Saxton (Rachel), and Bonnie Milks (Phillip.) son Henry (PenFen) Tomasiewicz, and daughters Marie (Gene) Tortelli, Sandra Tomasiewicz, and Grace Fuller, along with 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, her daughter-in-law Cheryl Tomasiewicz, and her special friend John Hickman. A memorial service will be held for Maxine at 11 AM on January 26 at Christ the King Church in Hesperia with a visitation starting at 10 AM and a luncheon to follow. An additional celebration of life service will be held in April. Remembrances may be sent to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Muskegon or The Newaygo County Senior Service Center.
