T/Sgt. Botter served in WWII from 30 Jan 1943, enlisting at New Cambria, Pennsylvania, until 10 Aug 1945. His home of record was Dawson, Tulsa, Oklahoma. While serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War he was taken prisoner in North Korea. He died in captivity and his body was never recovered. William was the son of William and Martha Botter, of New Cambria in 1940. Graduated from Johnstown Central Catholic High School in 1942. Married Zelda Florence Reeder on 11 Jun 1949 and their son Thomas John Botter was born during 1950 in Topeka, Kansas.
