Harold Dean Barkley, Sr. passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 15, 1935, the son of the late Virgil A. and Dolly Opal (Cox) Barkley.
He was reared and educated in Jamestown, Kentucky and attended Jamestown High School.
He married Chrystal (Grider) Barkley on October 19, 1953 and they divorced. Mrs. Barkley died in September 1998.
Harold moved from Kentucky back to Indianapolis in 1952. In 1968 he moved to Jamestown, Indiana, and then moved to Clairmont, Indiana, in 1989. In 2004 Harold moved back to Jamestown, Kentucky, and lived there until he settled in Lebanon in 2010. He worked as an owner/operator of a trucking company until his retirement in 2001. In retirement he managed a boat storage company.
Mr. Barkley was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating.
Graveside Services were held at the K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at 2:00 pm with the family officiating.
No Visitation is planned.
