Billie Sunday Clack, 87, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2011. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM on February 15 at First Baptist Church, 1300 East 15th St. in Plano, Texas. Visitation hours are 5:00 to 7:00 PM, February 14, at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th Street in Plano.
Bill was a proud member of the greatest generation. He served as a belly gunner on B17 aircraft with the 398th Bomb Group during World War II. After the war, he began a 39 year career in the oil industry in seismic exploration with the Atlantic Refining Company and retired from ARCO in 1985 as a geophysical coordinator. In 1946, he met and married his sweetheart for the next 64 years, Prudence Ann Caine of Orrville, Alabama. Bill was a member of the 398th Bomber Group Member Association and a lifetime member of the VFW.
Bill loved family, fishing, cooking, good conversation, and 18 year old scotch whiskey.
Bill is survived by wife Ann Clack; sisters Mary Jo Young and Ana Bel Bartley of Clarksville, Texas; son Bill Clack and wife Carol of Seaford, Virginia; son John Clack and fiancée Belinda Wilson of Houston, Texas; daughter Marianne Watson and husband Kyle of San Antonio, Texas; daughter Beverly Lane and husband Duke of Paris, Texas; grandsons and granddaughters Courtney Clack, Katie Clack, Christopher Clack, Kevin Clack, Matthew Watson, Jenna Watson, Glenna Jackson, and Tony Lane; three great grandchildren; and many more loved family and friends.
