Cleveland Lee Howell, 89, died March 29, 2012 at the Alvin C. York Veterans Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. A long-time resident of Nashville, Mr. Howell served his country during WWII in the US Army. He worked at Werthan Industries and then at Ingram Book Company before his retirement in 1991.

He is predeceased by: parents, James Monroe Howell and Nicie Sumner Howell; brothers, Wilburn (Katherine) Howell and Dennis Ray Howell; and sister, Ethel (Paulie) Brown. He is survived by: his wife, Hazel Hill Howell; son Randall (Joan Watts) Howell; sisters, Stella (Lamar) Beard, Verlene (Fred) Pope, Jessie (the late Orville) Bethune, Lura Bell (the late Oscar) Precise, Dorothy (Bobby) Byrd, Doris (Joel) Nixon, Dean (Wayne) Page and Kathy Cosgrove; brothers, Wallace (Ressie) Howell and Max (Patsy) Howell; grandchildren, Beth (Andy) Neal, Virginia (Mike) Razo, Hannah Howell, Ryan Howell and Molly Howell; great-grandchildren Ailene, Eudora and Beatrix Neal. He was a long-time member of the Murfreesboro Road Civitan Club and Glenwood Batist Church in Nashville.

Funeral services were held at Ellis Funeral Home on Nolensville Road in Nashville on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 1:00 pm, following visitation from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Graveside services followed at Woodlawn Cemetery at 2:00 pm, with Military Honors.
