Ephraim Allen was born on 30 December 1670 in Sandwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, to the Hon. Jedidiah Allen and Elizabeth Howland.

This Ephraim was said to have died in Feb of 1726 in Allawayes Creek, Salem Co. However, the will states "Wife Hannah" and this man was married to a Susannah who died before 1700, so she could not have been alive when he wrote the will. Children were listed as James, Benjamin, Joseph, Isack (under age) and daughter Uesty Powel, "with whom Aubitha Allen is to live until 16, and then to be free". Signed by John White, Sam'l Wade, Sam'l Wade Jr and proved 21 Feb 1726. There is no Jedediah in this listing of the will for this Ephraim. So I have proposed to take the death date off this Ephraim until further information has been gathered.

An Ephraim Allen married Elizabeth Maddocks (1671-1725) on 23 January 1693, and one of their children was Jedidiah Allen (1695-1795). So the death date of Ephraim needs to be looked into more closely.

Note: Elizabeth Maddox or Maddocks did marry James Denn. When widowed, she wed Jeremiah Powell, not Ephraim Allen. Her father sold Jeremiah land in Fenwick's Colony, NJ. There are several Salem MM records of their Marriage Intentions. Another source: "Elizabeth Denn Marriage Date on Image 28 Ninth 1694 28 Nov 1694 Jeremiah Powell. Salem Monthly Meeting. Vol. Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy Vol. II p.65, U.S., Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, Vol I–VI"

Ephraim Allen wed Hannah Johnson Holden Leonard. Her Father, William Johnson, was a whaler who took his business from Elizabeth to Cape May, along with Henry Leonard. Hannah Johnson wed Joseph Houlden and had 3 known sons in Cape May. He died about Dec 1696. Hannah then wed Henry Leonard or Leanard, whaler.
