Mr. Hathaway was a quiet man and one who minded his own business strictly. A hospitable man with a wlcome for every one coming to his home where the latch string was always out and the very best of neighbors. Although for several years past he had been but little away from his home he will be greatly missid by the community at large as well as his immediate family.
The funeral which was largely attended, was held from the Westcott chapel Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. H. C. Kamphoefner, of the Whitfield M. E. Church.
The pallbearers were from theWoodman lodge to which order Mr. hathaway belonged. Interment was in Logan Park. The floral offerings were very beautiful and came from many sources. An exquisite flower pillow was the tribute from his children and two bouquets especially appreciated were from the Bethel Ladies Aid to whicfh Mrs Hathaway belongs and from the Sunnyside high school, the youngest daughter;s classmatges. Inspite of thw awful condition of the roads a long line of cars filled with sympathizing friends, accompanied the sorrowing family to the cemetery.
