William Bunten was instantly killed by the cars in Pittsboro this morning about 6:30. Mr. Bunten lived in Pittsboro and had started to his day's work with his team. He was crossing the Big Four on what is called the second crossing and the local freight struck his team, killing both horses and Mr. Bunten and demolishing the wagon. It is claimed that the engine did not whistle for the crossing. Coroner Curtis is holding an inquest.
