Johnny Douglas Couick, 39, of Del Rio, died Monday, October 2, 2000.

He attended the 1st Church of God, Del Rio, and was an avid hiker, enjoying the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy S. Couick; sons, Adam Couick and Jason Smith; and daughter, Roxanna Couick, all of Del Rio; brothers, Floyd Benfield of Banner Elk, N.C., and Lee Couick of Rock Hill, S.C.; sisters, Saundra King of Bridgewater, Mass., Betty Mull of Burleson, TX, Ola Mae Stirewalt of Charlotte, N.C., Faye Underwood of Monroe, N.C., Joyce Whittaker of Wingate, N.C., and Barbara Benfield and Jean Barker of Rock Hill, S.C.; also 21 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Ashley officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the Clark Cemetery.

Family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral service
