Bonnie L. Barklow, 62, of Baileyville, passed away in her home Wednesday June 17, 2009. Bonnie was born April 17, 1947, in Freeport, the daughter of Vernon and Leona (Moss) Kuhlemeier. Bonnie was the fiancé of John J. Slechta for the past 27 years.

Bonnie worked for Micro Honeywell for over 30 years. She enjoyed boating and camping and loved her flowers and gardening. Bonnie loved spending her winter months in Florida.

Surviving Bonnie are her fiancé, John J. Slechta of Baileyville; one son, Marvin Barklow of Colorado; two daughters, Lisa Barklow and Teresa (Daniel) Holden both of Freeport; three brothers, Vern (Sharon) Kuhlemeier of Alfokey, LaVern Kuhlemeier and Ricky Kuhlemeier both of Freeport; six sisters, Carol (Roger) Kuntz of Freeport, JoAnn Julius of Texas, Nancy (Randy) Baker of Freeport, DeeAnn (Jerry) Elder of Freeport, Becky (Tom) Becker of Wisconsin and Susan (Martin) Keller of Atlanta, Georgia. Also surviving are five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Bonnie will be missed by her camping and boating friends of Clinton, Iowa.
Preceding Bonnie in death are her loving parents and one brother Larry.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service at Burke Tubbs in Freeport.

A memorial has been established in her memory.

Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
