Married on Sept. 12, 1867. Florence was the daughter of Oremet and Rachel (Ballew) Lee, being one of seven children born to this pioneer couple, only two of whom now living, Landy R. Lee, of Tipton; and William J. Lee, of California. When a baby of two years, Mrs. Stockdale came to this county with her parents, who settled on a farm in the Nevada community. Mrs. Stockdale was the widow of the late William E. Stockdale to whom she was united in marriage in 1872 and to this union four sons were born, one Clyde B. Stockdale, former Tipton coal dealer being deceased. The surviving sons are Park of Frankton; Omer, of Indianapolis; and Harry, of Jonesboro. Mrs. Stockdale was for many years a resident of the Nevada community, later removing to Tipton following the death of her husband and for a number of years resided on South Main street. Three years ago, she left Tipton and went to the home of her son, Harry, at Jonesboro, and about one year ago she went to the home of her son, Park, at Frankton. Funeral services are to be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Nevada Methodist church and burial will be in the cemetery at that place, beside the husband, whose death occurred many years ago.

The following is taken from the 1880 Federal census:
Wm. C. Stockdale 33
Florence Stockdale 27
Lula Stockdale 11
Omer Stockdale 9
Harry Stockdale 7
Clyde Stockdale 3
Maud Stockdale 3

On the 1920 census, she lived in town and was widowed. Her mother, Rachel Lee and uncle, Linzy (Linsey) Ballew lived with her.
