Mary Lou Alseth, 56, 1121 6th Street, Menomonie, died May 10th, at the Dunn County Health Care Center. Funeral services are 2pm, May 14, at Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie, Rev. Hilmar Mostul officiating.
Burial is in the Halverson Cemetery.
Born and raised in Menomonie, Mary Lou Alseth was born December, 19th, 1925 to Ernest and Helen Roen Halverson. She attended North Grade School in Menomonie and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1944.
After high school, she attended Dunn County Normal School until 1946, then taught rural schools in Downsville and Elmwood, grades 1-8 for three years.
She married James Alseth June 10th, 1949, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Menomonie. she worked at the Schultz Brothers Dime Store in Menomonie from 1964-1975. She had been at the Health Care Center for the past three years.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Survivors include her husband, James; three daughters, Jean Alseth Price, Menomonie, Janet Alseth Dean, Port Huron, Mich.,and Nancy Alseth Beguhn, Elk Mound; her father Ernest Halverson of Menomonie; two sisters, Betty Michsels, Menomonie, Doreen Thatcher, Madison; a foster brother, Eugene "Bud" Halverson, Menomonie; three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
