Mrs. Delzell
Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. Friday at DeYoung Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Alta May Delzell, 74, a Stockton area resident for nearly 70 years who died Dec. 12 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Delzell was born in St. Joseph, Mo., and came west in a covered wagon with her family and grandfather, Benjamin Lucas. The family settled in the Ione area.
After her marriage to the late Allen M. Delzell, she resided on a ranch north of Stockton and in Blythe. Later she moved to Stockton where she was employed until 1972 as a licensed vocational nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital.
She was a member of the Latter Day Saints Church.
Surviving are sons, Jack and William Delzell of Stockton; daughters, Mrs. Pauline Lindsey of Moss Beach and Mrs. Dorothy Moore of Stockton; sisters, Mrs. Doshia Sturdivant in Oregon, Mrs. Opal Fitzgerald of Ione, Mrs. Myrtle Fancher and Mrs. Bertha Kranzler of Sacramento and Mrs. Hazel Edwards of Stockton; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
