Kim Cheshire

1957 ~ 2010 Thursday afternoon, our dear sweet Kim left us to begin her spiritual mission for Heavenly Father and take her place with the choir of heaven. After surviving cancer twice in her life, and among many other health battles, she continued to fight for life after an open heart surgery at the University of Utah hospital. Although her spirit was strong her body could not endure and she passed with loving family by her side.

We thank the staff at the University Hospital and SICU team for their loving care, skills and efforts to allow her to be with us just a little bit longer.

Kim was born on May 16, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Owen and Helen (Elliott) Clark. She grew up in Murray, Utah where she met her "Sweetheart" J. Lynden Cheshire. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on April 17, 1979.

Kim was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many capacities throughout her life including her most cherished calling as a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She loved her 16 year mission singing with 350 of her closest friends.

Kim's heart and personality radiated far beyond any mortal capacity. Her love for others spanned continents. Her warmth and friendliness lifted everyone she came in contact with. People were more important than things to Kim, and she taught others the same by her example. She bore testimony of Jesus Christ through her actions, words, and songs of the heart she sang.

Kim is survived by her husband Lynden; five children: Karen (Aaron), Nikki (Seth), Megan (Eric), Matthew (Courtney), and Spencer; parents Owen and Helen Clark; mother-in-law Barbara (Burgess); siblings: Elliott (Jane), Jan (Barry), and Shane (Wendee); and her seven beloved grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law James Douglas Cheshire, Jr.

Funeral services on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Murray West Stake Center, 5750 S Nena Way, with a viewing on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State, Murray and also Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church.

We love you Kim. God be with you 'til we meet again.
