Allen McKee, 72, of 101 Piedmont St., widower of Mrs. Carolyn Powell McKee, died March 1, 1988 at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late James Douglas and Ruby Elam McKee. He was retired from Greenwood Mills, Matthews Plant was a member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church. He was also a member of Mathews Masonic Lodge No. 358, Hejaz Temple, the Greenwood Antuque Care Club and the Quarter Century Club of Greenwood Mills.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Denton {Ramona} Jefferson and Miss Barbara Ann McKee of Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Allen and Miss Edna McKee of Greenwood; two brothers, Royce McKee and Bruce McKee of Greenwood; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 pm Thursday at Harley Funeral Home with the Rev. Reuel Westbrook, the Rev. Jack Mullinax and the Rev. John Hipp officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Boles, William S. "Bill" Nickles, James Ray Dodgen, Willie Beshers, Henry Hollingsworth, Frank Addy, Don Keadle, Tim Dixon and Bill Turner.
Honarary escort will be members of Mathews Masonic Lodge No. 358 and the Greenwood Shrine Club along with Milton "Buddy" Davis, Mac Mills, Ralph Price, Dr. Jack Collins, Dr. Wiley Price, Dr. Travis Stevenson, Dr. O. M. Cobb Jr. Dr. Jack Scurry, Dr. John Harrison, Jack Scott and Earl Cowan.
