SAN BENITO, TX. - On September 9, 1932 Basilia ``Bessie' Gonzalez was born to Pedro and Luisa Gonzalez in San Benito, Texas. On June 8, 1952, she married the love of her life Daniel Agado, Sr., and on March 30, 2012, she joined them in the kingdom of heaven.

Bessie was the eldest of 10 children, and she had a strong maternal love for her sisters and brothers. And while she had several jobs early in life, Bessie was a lifelong devoted mother and homemaker. She and her loving husband raised a family of eight children, who were taught the values of hard work, love and family.

If Daniel was the rock that served as the foundation for their family, Bessie was the thread that held it together.

Bessie's life was her family-her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She always thought of them before herself and wanted nothing more than their happiness. She loved to laugh, which made her and Daniel a wonderful pair. His antics could always bring out a giggle, and her smile was infectious; just being with her family brightened her day.

We'll always have memories of Sunday barbecues, holidays and birthday parties at the ranch, and Bessie being the first to grab the candy at the cracking of a piáata. She was an avid seamstress and gardener, and her roses were second to none. She will be missed by everyone who knew her, and we hope to pass on her love, wisdom and compassion to those who never did.Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and husband, are Bessie's two grandchildren, Brandi Lizette Agado and Ryan Samuel Rocha.

She is survived by her children, Maria Elena (Ernesto) Perez; Juan Jose (Carolyn) Agado; Daniel Jr. (Aleida) Agado; Ruben (Maria) Agado; Eliazar Agado Sr.; Norma (Lonnie) Treviáo; Antonio (Lydia) Agado; and Sylvia (Toby) Rocha.

Grandchildren: Katherine (Austin) Pemelton, Julie Ann (Ryan) Staley and Michael (Brad Sanders) Perez; Justin and Lauren Agado; Daniel III (Jasmine), Bryan (Niki Kirkland) and Kristen Agado; Leslie, Abigail, Iris and Victoria Agado; Eliazar Jr. and Jason Agado; Meaghan and Travis Treviáo; Jennifer (Eric Hinojosa) Agado and Jacklyn (Joe) Gaytan; and Harrison Ryan Rocha.

Great-grandchildren: Lilah Rebecca and Robyn Marie Pemelton; Zachary Reese, Coral Elise and Basilia Rose Staley; Diego Felipe and Marco Luis Agado; Madison Layna Agado; and Evelynn Jade Hinojosa.

Bessie is also survived by her sisters, Lencha Juarez, Sarah Galvan, Dora (Jesus) Garcia, Elisa (Ovidio) Farias and Mary Lou Gonzalez; her brothers, Pedro Jr.(Hilda), Ricardo (Dorothy), Ovidio (Sylvia) and Ramiro(Norma) Gonzalez; as well as her sisters-in-law, Manuela Garcia and Amelia (Felipe) Gonzalez; and brother-in-law, Manuel (Lupita) Agado; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
