OBITUARY OF SALLIE MORRIS BEAUCHAMP LONGEST:
********************************************
On the beautiful Friday afternoon of Dec. 3 at 3:45 o'clock, an angel visited in the small town of Lewisport and took from the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. Waitman Taylor, their mother and grandmother, Mrs. Sallie Beauchamp Longest. The wife of the late William Powell Longest, she had spent her entire life in Hancock County in the community she loved so well, on her country estate, known as "Greenland," opposite Tell City Indiana.

Had Mrs. Longest lived until Dec, 28th, she would have been 82 years of age. She and her late husband celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor (Adelaide) Dec. 16, 1936. She was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church and held the highest honor and esteem for the student pastors who served her church. The Christian life she lived will always remain a beautiful example for those who knew her. To those in need, Mrs. Longest's thoughts were always centered, ready to be of service in some way.

She is survived by the one daughter, Mrs. Taylor with whom she made her home the last few years; three grandchildren, Waitman, Jr., Billy and Sarah Ann Taylor.

The funeral was conducted at the home at 10:30 a.m., Sunday by the Rev. W.D. Norrington, assisted by the Rev. Oscar Lutz. She was laid to rest beside her late husband under the peaceful cedars in the Beauchamp cemetery. – Lewisport Correspondent.
