MRS. J. G. CONDIT FUNERAL TODAY.

The funeral of Mrs. J. G. Condit was held at the family home at three o'clock this afternoon. Her pastor, Rev. Dr. Mosser conducted the service, assisted by Dr. Parsons, of the college. Interment was in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery.

Martha Jane McCurdy was born in Venango county, Penn., October 4, 1837. She grew to womanhood in Venango county, living in the home of a sister, as her mother died in 1838. After teaching school for some years, she was, in 1862, united in marriage to Rev. John G. Condit.

Mr. and Mrs. Condit came to Iowa as hone missioinaries of the Presbyterian church in 1864. They carried on their work in pastorates in Iowa and Illinois until the fall of 1879 when they settled in Fairfield, Iowa, to educate their children. This has been the family home since that time. Rev. Mr. Condit died October 15, 1911.

Mrs. Condit was a faithful member of the Farifield Presbyterian church for more than thirty-seven years. Her home was her first care and from that as a center she reached out into many lines of active Christian influence. She is survived by five children: Rev. J. H. Condit, D.D., General Missionary of the Presbyterian church in Alaska; Prof. Ira S. Condit, head of the Department of Mathematics Iowa State Teachers' College; Mrs. J. E. Shoemaker, Missionary in Yrayao, China, wife of Rev. J. E. Shoemaker; Dr. John C. Condit, a physician in Healdsburg, California; Mrs. W. S. Crozier, La Mar, Colorado, wife of Rev. W. S. Crozier, pastor of the La Mar Presbyterian chuch (sic. church).

The oldest child died in infancy. Two of the childen (sic. children), Alma and Ira, were present at the funeral and will remain for a few days.
