John H. Good died on Friday of last week from infirmities incident to old age at his home in Brecknock township. Mr. Good was a remarkable man. He attained to the age of 94 years 5 months and 5 days, and up to his final illness, which was only of several days duration, he retained the full use of his faculties. He was born on the old Good homestead and lived there all his life. He was a farmer by occupation but retired thirty-four years ago. For a number of years he served as school director of Brecknock. He was a life-long member of the Mennonite Church and was a man who died as he lived--strong in the Faith. His wife died two years ago. The following children survive: Martin B., of Centre Church, a retired farmer and a former director of the New Holland National Bank; Israel B., of Spring Grove, a prominent minister of the Lancaster Conference of the Mennonite Church; Catharine, wife of Augustus Horning; Lizzie, wife of Joseph Horning, both of Bowmansville; Hettie, at home. Mary Goshen, aged ninety years, of Bowmansville, and Elizabeth Rutter, aged eighty-nine years, of Lancaster, are sisters. The funeral was held from his late home on Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. Service and interment took place at the Bowmansville Mennonite Church and cemetery. Bishop Benjamin Weaver and Rev. Henry Good officiated.
