Root, Aaron Burr, 69, of Ostrander died in a local hospital Feb 3. Born Feb 22 1884 in Pennsylvania, he had lived in Ostrander since he was 3 years old. He had been retired for 12 years, having been employed by the Ostrander Railway and Timber Co.. He was a member of the Kelso Elks. Survivors include widow, Dora; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Perry of Silver Lake, Mrs. Elaine Barr and Mrs. Lucille McCormick, both of Longview; three sons, Filmer of Portland, William of Castle Rock and Allen with the U.S. Air Force in Japan; nine grandchildren; one brother, Harry Root of Kelso; one sister, Mrs.. Edna King of Kelso. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ditlevsen-Moore Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Laurie officiating. Interment will be in the Kelso IOOF cemetery.
