Educated at Transylvania University, the College of the Bible, and the University of Wooster, R.H. Crossfield established himself as a key figure in the development of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and Kentucky and the South. He pastored First Christian Church of Glasgow, KY, and First Christian Church of Owensboro, KY. He authored numerous articles and a book, "Pilgrimages of a Parson." Crossfield was President of Transylvania University, the College of the Bible (later to become Lexington Theological Seminary), and Hamilton College, all of Lexington, KY. He later was President of William Woods College in Fulton, MO before returning to the ministry in Norfolk, VA followed by Birmingham, AL where he retired. He was a noted world traveler and evangelist during his career.College president of William Woods University, Kentucky University, and The College of The Bible. Buried in Glasgow, KY. He became president of the College of the Bible after J. W. McGarvery died.
