MRS. MARRIOTT dies following long illness
MARION I. MARRIOTT, wife of the late Frederick A. Marriott, a San Francisco newspaper publisher who died here earlier this year, succumbed to a long illness this morning at the home of a grandson here. She was 81.

Mrs Marriott, who was the favorite niece of Sarah L. Winchester, lived with Mrs. Winchester from the time she was 5 years old until the death of her aunt.

By reason of Mrs. Marriott's death, a large sum of money which had been left to her by Mrs. Winchester will now go to the General Hospital Society, a tuberculosis hospital in New Haven, Conn. Mrs. Marriott received the income from the fund during her lifetime under the terms of the Winchester will.

She was the mother of Mrs. Margaret Gale and the grandmother of Donald Robesky of Palo Alto, with home she lived. She was a native of Connecticut.

Funeral services for Mrs. Marriott will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Tinney's. Interment will be private. [The Peninsula Times Tribune (Palo Alto, CA) June 7, 1949, P2]
