Michael J. Mounce, 70, of Baldwinsville, died Wednesday, Sept. 12. Born in Brooklyn, he received a master's degree from State University College at Oswego in 1955. He retired in 1986 as an elementary teacher at Craven Crawford Elementary School in Liverpool school district after 32 years. He was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and a member of Baldwinsville Council Knights of Columbus. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, serving as a first lieutenant. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Mildred; three daughters, Mary Wade of Liverpool, Marjorie Pregent of Camillus, and Maureen Bradley of Syracuse; three sons, Martin of Baldwinsville, Mark of Cicero, and Michael of Phoenix; a sister Frances Hansen of Queens Village; and nine grandchildren. Services will be held today at 9:15 a.m. in Maurer Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
