Charles's parents were Henry J Ahlhorn Sr. and Louise Schroeder, who both were born in Germany. On October 21, 1902 Charles married Selma Rauch. She was only 19 years old and Charles was 29 yeras old when they married. They had 2 children Alvira (b. 8-21-1906, wife of Enno Wehrmeister) and Lorene L. (b. 8-3-1910, wife of Willie Pietsch). Selma passed away on May 21, 1914 at the age of 31 year old. Charles then marreid Alma Boehme. They had four children:
