Ogden – Leonard Lee Wayment, our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away suddenly of a stroke in Southern Arizona, where he was spending the winter. He was 72.

Lee was born on August 24, 1939 in Ogden, UT to Lillian Butler and Leonard Marvin Wayment. Lee was raised and educated in Ogden, UT, graduating from Ogden High School in 1957.

He married his childhood sweetheart, Alta Hansen, on May 18, 1962 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were looking forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in May. They raised two daughters and one son; Leann Stephens (Mike), Janiel Coleman (Robert) and Mark (Rachel) Wayment. He had 7 grandchildren, Allyson (Ryan) DeClerck, Kevin (Amy) Coleman, Brady Stone, Chantel Coleman, Mallory and Matthew Stephens, Traci Wayment and 1 great-grandchild (Makinlee), who were the light of his life. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and told them so as often as he could.

Lee had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed oil painting, working with plastic canvas, monk's cloth, and leather. He was an avid reader and would read anything he could get his hands on. He especially enjoyed reading about "useless but interesting" information. He also loved to travel and took many cruises with his wife and family.

Lee worked for Ogden City for 30 years, retiring as a water-treatment plant operator. After retiring he and his wife decided to spend the winters in Southern Arizona. They made many great friends there and enjoyed their time as "snowbirds" a great deal.

Lee held many positions in the LDS Church including counselor in the Sunday School and most recently as a member of the Branch Presidency of the Garden's Retirement Branch. He truly enjoyed his time of service there.

Dad was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Keola Geilman and Nita Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends on Sunday, April 1st form 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
