Funeral services for Mrs. Jerry C. Edwards were held at the St. Luke's United Church Of Christ in Faribault Aug. 25, with the Rev. A. M. Guthmiller, pastor of the church officiating. Ervin Boelke sang "How Great Thou Art" accompanied by Nancy Bultman, church organist. Pallbearers were nephews of Mrs. Edwards and included: Gordon Reineke, Donald Reineke, Melvin Reineke, Albert L. Schuenke, Dale Herr and Gary Bauer all of Faribault. Interment was made in the family lot in the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault. Relatives and friends attending the services from away were from: Peoria, Ill., Keokuk, Iowa, Minneapolis, Rochester, Northfield and Nerstrand.


Elda Caroline Bauer, the daughter of Christ and Louise Schwert Bauer was born at her parents farm home in Cannon City Township, in Rice County on Sept. 7, 1894. She attended the public schools there and was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Church in Wheeling Township. For several years she was employed at the Elgin Watch Company in Elgin, Ill. Later, she returned to Faribault and on Oct. 19, 1916 she was united in marriage to Jerry C. Edwards at the home her parents in Cannon City. They first made their home in Faribault, moving then to Winona and later to Milwaukee. Following that they resided in St. Louis, Mo., and then moved to Peoria, Ill., where Mr. Edwards had developed the J. C. Edwards Material Handling Firm. Following the death of Mr. Edwards in September of 1966, Mrs. Edwards returned to Faribault where she has since made her home. Mrs. Edwards passed away unexpectedly at her home in Faribault on Aug. 22.


She is survived by her son, Robert and daughter-in-law, Katherine of Peoria, Ill., by her granddaughter Susan Edwards also of peoria; by four sisters, Mrs. Amanda Stoxen of Taylor, N.D., Mrs. Malinda Stoxen, Mrs. Albert Schuenke (Laurena) and Mrs. Lily Herr all of Faribault; by two brothers, Christ Bauer and Edmund Bauer. She was preceded in death by her husband, by her parents and by two sisters, Mrs. Henry Grote (Louise) and Mrs. Gust Reineke (Minnie) and by a brother Fred Bauer. Mrs. Edwards was a member of the St. Luke's United Church of Christ and a member of the Naomi Circle.
