Born March 14, 1930, in Clarion County, she was the daughter of the late Clifford M. Dunlap and Ellen (McCall) Dunlap.
She was a 1948 graduate of Sligo High School.
She was married Jan. 24, 1949, to Richard L. Wayland, who preceded her in death March 6, 2009.
She was first employed as an operator at Bell Telephone Co. in Brookville and Clarion from 1948 to 1952. From 1957 to 1968 she worked as a secretary for Dr. Robert Baker, M.D., and from 1971 until her retirement in 1988 she worked in the same capacity for Attorney Archie Wallace, both of Greenville.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Greenville, where she served on the administrative board and as the secretary for the Women's Missionary Society.
Her interests included antique collecting, especially dishes and Hummels. Martha very much enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Pontzer and her husband, Joseph, of Rochester, N.Y., and Doris Wonderling-Stanson and her husband, Greg, of Annville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Burial will be in Callensburg New Cemetery, Clarion County.
