John Thomas (Bo) Savage, 77, of Roscoe, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, in Mon Valley Hospital Inc. He was born April 15, 1924, in Charleroi, a son of the late John B. and Anna Doyle Savage. He was an active member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Roscoe, the Knights of Columbus Charleroi 956, where he was a past grand knight, former district deputy and fourth degree member. He was also a member of the 10th Street Athletic Club, and the Roscoe Slovak Club. He was active in charitable collections for the Association of Retarded Citizens. He retired in 1983 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant, after 41 years of service. In his retirement, he was best known as the man who delivered flowers with a smile and a kind word and played Santa Claus throughout the Mon Valley area.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen Benassi and Adeline Bilitski; one brother, August Savage; one daughter, Regina Coeli Savage in November 1994; and one granddaughter, Coeli Regina Savage. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES INC., Roscoe, where a blessing service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Roscoe. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. The Knights of Columbus, Charleroi, will hold a prayer service Sunday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
